I’d almost like to see a team type translocator where they could deploy 2 from 2 different teammate and walk onto one and teleport to the other.

I agree with maintaining direction and momentum. Oddly enough, one of my first ever game mods was a Silent Teleporter in DooM 2 to use in hallways to allow them to seem larger than they truly were.
